Meet Kate Burdekin, Founder and Director at Create Disability Services

Kate Burdekin is a dedicated and compassionate professional committed to transforming the lives of individuals with diverse needs. As the Founder and Lead Coordinator of Create Disability Services, she focuses on ensuring that her clients feel heard and supported, embodying her mantra to “Dream big and make your goals a reality.”

With a rich blend of life experience and professional qualifications, Kate has developed a robust skill set that equips her to effectively address the challenges faced by vulnerable individuals. She began her career in foster care coordination and has progressively embraced the NDIS framework to provide essential support to those in need.

Kate’s diverse background includes extensive experience in managing teams and supporting individuals within the community. Her commitment to protecting the rights of vulnerable people includes providing tailored assistance for complex physical and mental health needs. She takes pride in her ability to navigate complex care requirements, ensuring that positive outcomes are achieved to enhance the daily lives of her clients.

Marianne Coulson

Marianne is our COS Support Administrator and the friendly voice you’ll hear when you get in touch with us. She has a knack for making everyone feel at home from the get-go, creating a laid-back and inviting atmosphere.

With her sharp mind and quick problem-solving skills, Marianne is an essential part of our crew. Her commitment and hard work keep everything running smoothly and make her the backbone of our organisation.

Whether it’s colleagues or clients, everyone knows they can count on Marianne for support. She has this great ability to bring a bit of joy and laughter into the workplace, brightening everyone’s day. Her dedication to our values aligns perfectly with our goals, motivating those around her to give their best.

Kate Bell-Wood (Kiki)

Meet Kate Bell-Wood (aka Kiki), Team Leader at Create Disability Services

Kate brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to her role as Team Leader at Create Disability Services. She holds a Diploma in Youth Work, a Certificate III in Aged Care, and has completed additional training in Advanced Case Management and Mental Health First Aid.

Before transitioning into Support Coordination, Kate began her NDIS journey as the primary support for a family member living with a complex psychosocial and neurological disability. Her educational and employment background provided her with foundational skills, but it was the guidance of an exceptional Coordinator of Supports (COS) that truly enhanced her understanding of the NDIS. This support played a vital role in helping her family member regain their quality of life and reintegrate into the community after a significant period of isolation.

With her personal experience and passion for empowering others with knowledge, Kate is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of those she supports. She is dedicated to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for both her team and the individuals they serve.

Charmaine Rogers

Meet Charmaine Rogers, Team Leader at Create Disability Services

Charmaine joins us with a robust foundation of professional qualifications and a wealth of experience in the disability sector. Previously, she excelled as an Employment Consultant and Regional Manager in disability employment services before advancing into practice and performance management roles. Most recently, Charmaine has made her mark in the NDIS Support Coordination realm, leading teams toward achieving positive outcomes for clients.

A driven and passionate leader, Charmaine is dedicated to empowering individuals and enhancing their skills to achieve both professional and personal goals. Her empathetic approach ensures that she understands each client’s unique needs, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes growth and independence.

We are truly fortunate to have Charmaine as part of our team. Her inspirational leadership and extensive knowledge will undoubtedly benefit not only our clients at Create Disability Services but also our team as a whole.

Team Lead, Support Coordination

Saraya Coe

Saraya serves as a Support Coordinator at Create Disability Services, bringing with her a wealth of experience in out-of-home care and casework. With a strong academic background that includes a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics, Saraya is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology. This ongoing professional development highlights her commitment to mastering the skills necessary for her role.

As a proud Aboriginal woman, Saraya embodies a compassionate and down-to-earth approach in her work, showcasing an unwavering dedication to her clients. She is deeply passionate about advocating for their voices and ensuring that their needs are met effectively.

We are confident that Saraya’s expertise and heartfelt approach will significantly enhance the quality of support we provide to our valued clients at Create Disability Services.

Lodia Wheat

Lodia has come into this position equipped with a strong base of professional experiences, previously being employed through the NDIS Partner in the community as an Early Childhood Educator and then building herself into the Team Lead position. Lodia has additionally worked as a Rehabilitation Coordinator, supporting participants with lifelong disabilities. Before these impressive roles, Lodia worked within the Health Department as a registered Midwife, therefore, it is clear to see that Lodia’s diversity and commitment to her career journey have built a firm foundation for her role as a support coordinator.
Lodia is a compassionate, dedicated, and empathetic individual with a passion for ensuring that her participants needs are best met and that their interests, views, and wishes remain at the forefront focus of all decisions and actions.
We are so fortunate to have Lodia as a strong addition to our diverse team and we are all so appreciative to have her work alongside us to best assist in improving the lives of the wonderful participants we support here at Create Disability Services!

Alexandra Rogers (Alex)

For those of you that have been fortunate to have met and worked alongside Alex you would agree that she is an extremely intelligent, compassionate, driven, and reliable individual who holds a passion for participants rights and advocacy.

Alex is extremely knowledgeable holding both personal and professional experiences; having worked with in both the aged care and disability field having worked previously in the sector undertaking various roles such as disability support work, personal care assistant, plan management, claims officer and in turn prior experience within the NDIS Support Coordinator role.

Alex has come into the industry with a passion for personal growth and development, making her a strong asset to not only our team but the individuals she supports. With this being said, I’m sure you would all agree that Alex is an extremely strong addition to our growing team here at Create Disability Services and we are beyond thrilled to have her by our side!

Meagan White

Meagan is an extremely motivated, driven, passionate and skilled individual who has proven her capabilities within the role thus far accomplishing many outstanding results and achievements with her participants and their care teams.

Meagan came to Create Disability Services holding strong qualifications and experiences working within the disability services sector as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, House Manager and lead disability support worker.

For all of those who have been fortunate to have met and worked alongside Meagan, I’m sure you will all agree that she is extremely passionate, dedicated, skilled, and responsive.

To say that we are thrilled to have Meagan apart of our team here at Create Disability Services is an understatement… It’s wonderful and dedicated employees like Meagan who make Create Disability Services the reputable organisation it stands to be today.

Kerrie Turner

Kerrie’s prior work experiences and background includes working for the NSW Department of Education as a primary school teacher, Community Disability Alliance Hunter, Peer Mentor, Community Engagement officer and parent support. Kerrie additionally holds personal experiences self-managing a family’s NDIS plan, coordinating individual mental health supports and advocating through the NDIS internal review process.
Kerrie is a passionate, empathetic and dedicated individual who is driven by empowering and supporting individuals to increase their skills and capacity to achieve their goals. Kerrie is highly experienced in positively collaborating with individuals, families, support providers and colleagues to develop and implement personalised and person-centred support plans.
It is clear to say that we are truly fortunate to have this inspirational and knowledgeable woman apart of our team to best assist not only the clients on her care team but our team as a whole.

Lauren Richardson

Lauren has come into this position equipped with both personal and professional experiences having worked previously within the community services sector as a foster care caseworker and residential care worker.
Lauren is dedicated in ensuring the needs of the clients within Create are being met and their interests, views and wishes remain in the forefront focus of all decisions and actions made.
Lauren’s understanding of child protection and disability services equips her with the skills and abilities to assist young people in care with disabilities ensure that they receive appropriate plans to ensure that their disability needs and prioritised and best met.
Lauren has already proven her capabilities within the role and has established strong working relationships with her clients, their families and professional care teams.

Lilli Ng

Lilli has a diploma of community services, advanced diploma of nutritional medicine and in turn has extensive experience working in the child protection field, training foster carers and most recently worked as not only a mental health disability support worker but an assistant occupational therapist which has equipped her with a wealth of knowledge and hands on experience which is able to be best utilised within her role as a support coordinator with Create Disability Services.

Shabnam Shrestha

Shabnam has brought with her a good knowledge base and experiences having worked as a support coordinator, in addition to holding professional experiences working previously as a disability care coordinator, disability employment consultant, disability support worker and pharmacist assistant. It is clear to say that Shabnam’s past experiences have been key to shaping the coordinator she stands to be today.
Shabnam is a passionate and dedicated individual driven by positive results and outcomes for the participants she supports. Recent feedback has highlighted Shabnam’s responsiveness, attentiveness and dedication towards her clients and their care teams, always going above and beyond to ensure that each individual is best supported to make their personal goals a reality.
